For the immigrants, single mothers, singers, musicians, photography lovers, bubble-gum philosophers, but especially, for all those who have to deal with Miami on a daily basis.

Summer Trilogy
Absence in Three Movements
I
In the mist of morning,
‘Til the warm embrace of evening,
With soft tears of longing
A bird awaits the return of the delicate flower
That soared east at the fifth bell of my shores
II
Ancient trace of orange and myrtle,
Rose bathed pearls forged
With the sands of time,
Tamed creatures
Dancing their
Song of
Love
III
In waves of silk
I send you my doves
Of wonder
To wrap your skin
In gold petals
From the garden
Of my desires

Gracias, amiga.

Ladies Night
Soy la Luna,
menguante,
olvidada entre tantas estrellas.
Y tu sueñas con constelaciones
que quepan en tus manos
y vivan en tus pentagramas,
y viajen en tus esquemas
de futuro perfecto.
Soy la Luna,
menguante, o nueva.
Y si alguna vez me lleno

Barnacle Under Moonlight
Because this blog space is supposed to accommodate useful information too, I have decided to share some info on cheap and fun family events for the enjoyment of my fellow Miami mommies and their "little treasures".
There is musical family fun to be had at Barnacle State Park in Coconut Grove. Casual concerts are held there on the Second Friday of the month from September through May.
Bring a picnic, bring your friends and enjoy a lovely evening. Gates open at 6:00 pm. Music lasts from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. No pets and no alcohol are allowed. The cost is $7 for ages 10 and up, $3 for ages 6 - 9; and those under 6 are free.
The Barnacle is located at 3485 Main Highway in Coconut Grove.
For the next concert dates, check out the Barnacle Events Web Site or call 305-442-6866.
For more information about this fascinating and historic park, read their profile of The Barnacle State Historic Park.
